1.4031 (X39Cr13) ESU quenched and tempered, approx. 30 HRC

Martensitic steel with good mechanical properties, good machinability. Due to ESU-melting high purity and highest toughness properties. Material in quenched and tempered condition used for numerous construction elements in which resistance is required in moderately corrosive media. Often used for cutting tools because better to harden up as 1.4028.

1.4031 is popularly known as AISI 420​​​​​.
