1.4435 (X2CrNiMo18-14-3) directly from stock & cut to your required dimensions!
1.4435 is an austenitic stainless chromium-nickel-molybdenum steel with low carbon content. The material 1.4435 is a higher-alloyed version of 1.4404.
It is distinguished by its very good corrosion resistance in natural environmental media (water, rural and urban atmosphere) and is resistant to various acids.
Industrial use in chlorine and salt concentrations.
1.4435 is popularly known as AISI 316L.
It is mainly used in the medical and pharmaceutical industry, chemical industry, petroleum industry, petrochemical industry, for electronic equipment and for manufacturing synthetic fibers.
Machinability: 4 (1 = bad - 10 = good)
Corrosion class: 4 (0 = weak - 5 = good)
The processing with the saw is a mechanical processing of the material, which results in a significantly lower unintended deformation and increased hardness for the existing structure, such as the thermal cutting.
Thus, the machined workpiece has a homogeneous structure even at the edge, which does not change in the continuation of the material.
This circumstance allows immediate finishing of the workpiece with milling or drilling . So it is not necessary to anneal the material or make a similar operation beforehand.
