1.2083 ESR (X40Cr14) directly from stock & cut to your required dimensions.
Our ESR material is used when better material purity, particularly high tensile strength and compressive strength are required.
1.2083 is a corrosion-resistant plastic mould steel with a high hardness after the quenching. Low distortion through-hardening steel with high hardenability and good polishability.
This steel is mainly used in processes with chemically aggressive and acidic plastics such as duro- or thermoplastics, PVC-arminoplastics, plastics for injection mold inserts or for special machine parts in the food industry.
Weldability: bad
Machinability: 5 (1 = very bad - 10 = good)
Polishability: yes
Corrosion class: 1 (0 = weak - 5 = good)

Flat, forged, annealed
The processing with the saw is a mechanical processing of the material, which results in a significantly lower unintended deformation and increased hardness for the existing structure, such as the thermal cutting.
Thus, the machined workpiece has a homogeneous structure even at the edge, which does not change in the continuation of the material.
This circumstance allows immediate finishing of the workpiece with milling or drilling . So it is not necessary to anneal the material or make a similar operation beforehand.
