Martensitic steel 1.4122 (X39CrMo17-1) with manifold properties
1.4122 as a chromium steel is growing in popularity. With its manifold possible methods of processing and excellent material properties - corrosion resistant, stainless and magnetizable - this steel grade has many fields of application. Due to its corrosion resistance this martensite steel is used for pump sections or valves for freshwater components. Furthermore 1.4122 is a common steel in mechanical engineering and plastics processing, especially for extruders. The mechanical properties can be improved significantly by quenching and tempering to the desired level.
